Thailand’s Second Kimpton Hotel to be Located on Koh Samui

(29 Apr 2021)
IHG has signed a Kimpton hotel on Koh Samui, the
popular tourist island in the Gulf of Thailand.

Currently under construction and scheduled to open
in Q4 2021, the Kimpton Koh
Samui will be the second Kimpton hotel in the Kingdom, following
the
brand’s debut in Bangkok in October 2020.

The 138-key
beachfront property will be located on the north-end of Choengmon Beach, a short
drive from Chaweng
Beach, Fisherman’s Village in Bophut, and Koh Samui
International Airport (USM).

The Kimpton Koh Samui will offer guests a choice
of rooms, suites and luxury pool villas, the latter of which will
have direct access to the
beach.

The resort will feature
four restaurants and bars, a pool, spa,
fitness centre, Kids Club and 124 sqm of multi-purpose meetings
and events space. The hotel will also be pet-friendly.

Serena Lim, Vice President, Development, South East Asia
and Korea, IHG, said, “We are excited to continue our long standing partnership with NYE Estate whom we share a common vision
of elevating and growing the hospitality sector in  Thailand,
as well as new partners Multiply Partners and Capstone Asset to
bring Kimpton’s heartfelt approach to hospitality to Koh Samui
as we continue to expand the brand across the region as well as
globally.”

This
signing is part of Kimpton’s continued momentum into new
urban markets and resort destinations across Asia, following
Kimpton Da An in Taipei, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in Thailand and
Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo in Japan.

With upcoming openings across
Asia in Bali, Suzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nanjing, Sanya and
Kuala Lumpur, the brand will also expand in Germany, Mexico
and the Netherlands.
