• Shangri-La Partners Samty Group for Second Hotel in Japan

    Shangri-La has entered into a new joint venture with
    Samty Co., Ltd to develop a luxury hotel in Kyoto, Japan.

    The location of the proposed hotel is just north
    of the Nijo Castle, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the
    most popular tourist destinations in Kyoto.

    The hotel, which will be Shangri-La’s second hotel
    in Japan after Shangri-La Tokyo, will be situated just four
    kilometres north of Kyoto Station, one of the main gateways into
    the city.

  • Cambodia Airports to Enhance Operations with Amadeus Flow

    Cambodia Airports,
    an affiliate of VINCI Airports and the developer and operator of
    the Kingdom’s three international airports (PNH, REP and KOS), is to enhance
    operations with Amadeus Flow.

    Amadeus’ fully integrated cloud platform for airport passenger
    services will help the airports to rapidly deploy new passenger handling capacity via
    the internet as needed.

    With this new approach, Cambodia
    Airports can also temporarily reallocate resources not in use. One
    example would be by redistributing airline services between

  • Hong Kong Air Travel Bubble Set for Take Off on 26 May

    Singapore and Hong Kong are having another go at
    establishing a travel bubble between the two cities, after the
    last two attempts both failed at the last minute.

    The take off date for the Air Travel Bubble (ATB)
    between SIN and HKG is set for 26 May 2021.

    The
    ATB will again be suspended if the seven-day moving average of the
    unlinked community cases in either Singapore or Hong Kong
    increases to above 5, it will then only resume when the COVID situation
    has stabilised.

    The ATB will be launched under more stringent
    arrangements to better safeguard

  • Malaysia Airlines Launches MHflypass

    Malaysia Airlines has launched MHflypass, a product
    which enables travellers to purchase flight coupons at a fixed
    price.

    The
    domestic MHflypass has six
    flight coupons, equivalent to the option of three return or six
    one-way flights, to destinations across
    Malaysia for RM699. The coupons are valid for one year.

    Early
    birds can grab the MHflypass at a promotional price as low as
    RM499 for the domestic pass, valid for purchase from up to 2
    May 2021 for all-year-round travel dates in 2021 and beyond.

  • Rosewood Partners Mitsubishi for First Hotel in Japan

    Rosewood has signed a management agreement with Mitsubishi
    Estate to open the first Rosewood-branded hotel in Japan.

    Scheduled to open in 2024, the 55-villa Rosewood Miyakojima
    will be located on Mikayo Island in the Okinawan archipelago.

    Miyako Island and nearby isles offer miles of
    soft, white sand with endless vistas of turquoise-blue sea.
    Aquatic adventures range from snorkeling at Yabiji, the largest
    coral reef expanse in Japan, to diving through underwater caverns
