Honolulu in Hawaii is literally a paradise for beach lovers. While all the beaches naturally have white sands and clear waters, each place is unique in their own way. The beaches you can visit varies from your interests such as swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Here are some of the beaches you should visit during your stay:

Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach is the most jampacked beach in Honolulu. In fact, most of the city’s hotels and resorts are located on this beach. This is also an open-access beach, which means anyone can swim. You can participate in plenty of water sports activities such as surfing, canoeing, and paddleboarding.

This is definitely a good place where you can feed off from the crowd’s energy as you enjoy what this beach has to offer.

If you’re looking to get away from the large crowd for a while, then the San Souci Beach is right around the corner. Located at the far end of Waikiki Beach, this beach has calm waters and smooth sand, making it a good venue for kids to have fun.

There is also a lifeguard tower, which makes the venue easy to monitor for lifeguards. While you’re at it, there is another family-friendly place near the area, Kapiolani Park; it is home to the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium.

Ala Moana Beach Park

Ala Moana Beach Park has a little bit of everything compared to a normal beach. This 100-acre beach park has waters that make a good surfing place for adults and a wading pool for children.

It also has a refreshing atmosphere with plenty of trees and grass to go around. You can do other recreational activities, such as playing tennis and basketball, biking, and going to the nearby Ala Moana Mall.

Magic Island Beach is a part of the Ala Moana Beach Park. What makes this small beach different is that the visitors are protected from strong waves by the man-made rocky reef barrier.

You should proceed with caution in the waters as the sand isn’t as smooth as other beaches, given how the beach is rocky in some areas. This beach also has a nice background, which consists of trees in a grassy area.

Sandy Beach

Thus, children shouldn’t swim here, but there are plenty of activities you can try, such as kite-flying.

Given that there is a tendency for turbulent waters, swimming when the waters are calm is highly advisable.

Mother’s Beach

Mother’s Beach is a place for all ages. This family-friendly beach has calmer waters where kids can freely swim and participate in water sports such as bodyboarding.

What makes this beach unique is the breathtaking view of perfect waves. Bringing food with you is recommended, given that there are picnic tables under the tree nearby.

This spot is best known for its multiple large trees that provide plenty of shades. Bringing food is also recommended since there are picnic tables and benches nearby.
